The brilliance of the internet is that it has replaced the marches.

Marches are what we used to do, both to speak out, and to reassure ourselves that there are millions who agree with us.

saying 'only 100,000' turned out is like a justifying cuts in federal road building in 1907 by citing 'only 100,000' buggies were sold this year, while ignoring the influence of the Model T.

The Model T being the internet, if you couldn't follow the metaphor.

I'm glad Jane Fonda was onstage, all the more distracting for the knuckle draggers who assume the street protests are at the heart of the movement against their worldview.

On the contrary, I REALLY wish whoever organized this march had not invited Jane Fonda. I can't think of a more discredited individual in the realm of protesting war. The woman herself apologized for her behavior during the Vietnam War. It's just too easy for the chickenhawks to throw a bad light on the protest when someone like Fonda is involved.

Q Is the President concerned that Israel may have used U.S. cluster bombs in South Lebanon, according to preliminary findings of the State Department?

MR. SNOW: Now, you guys know we don't comment on on-going criminal investigations.
